A report on an archaeological impact assessment on a portion of RE 5 of Waterval 386 JP and a portion of portion 26 & 27 of Bokfontein 396 JP, Kgetlengriver Local Municipality, Northwest Province
Archaetnos cc was requested by Lockeport Projects Pty (Ltd), on behalf of Twin Oaks (Pty0 Ltd, to conduct an archaeological impact assessment on a portion of re 5 of Waterval 386 JP and a portion of portion 26 and 27 of Bokfontein 396 JP, Kgetlengriver Locall Municipality, Northwest Province. The development of the Twin Oaks Country Estate and Game Lodge is being proposed.
The fieldwork undertaken revealed no sites, features or objects of any archaeological or cultural heritage significance in the area that will be impacted upon by the proposed development, although a number of scattered Stone Age tools and a grave yard were recorded on the general property. It is therefore recommended that the proposed development continue, as it would have no impact on any archaeological or other cultural heritage resources.
