Heritage study for the Environmental, Health and Socio-Economic Baseline Studies for Block 2 at Siguiri Gold Mine
Archaetnos cc was requested by SRK Consulting to conduct a cultural heritage study for Block 2 at the Siguiri Gold Mine, Guinea. The mine is owned and operated by the Societé Ashanti de Guineée (AGA). The opportunity to start exploiting Block 2 is currently being explored. The heritage study forms part of baseline studies for the project.
The town of Siguiri is located on the eastern side of the Republic of Guinea, close Mali. The mining area of Block 2 is towards the north-west of Siguiri. It includes several small villages with Saraya and Foulata being the nearest.
The client gave broad parameters of the area to be surveyed and the survey was confined to these. It was done via foot.
