Report on an archaeological resources survey on the farm Klapperrandjie 394 KQ near Northam, Limpopo Province
Summary
Archaetnos cc was requested by Dr. U. Kusel, of African Heritage Consultants, on behalf of Interdesign Landscape Architects, to conduct an archaeological resources survey on the farm Klapperrandjie 394 KQ near Northam in the Limpopo Province. The development of residential housing is being proposed.
The fieldwork undertaken revealed no real sites, features or objects of any archaeological or cultural heritage significance in the area that will be impacted upon by the proposed development, although some remains of farm laborer dwellings, scattered glass, metal and ceramic artifacts and a broken lower grinding stone were recorded. The significance of these is however deemed low. It is therefore recommended that the proposed development continue, as it would have no impact on any archaeological or other cultural heritage resources.
