A REPORT ON A HERITAGE IMPACT ASSESSMENT FOR THE PROPOSED LOUIS PASTEUR COMPLEX IN CENTRAL PRETORIA, CITY OF TSHWANE, GAUTENG PROVINCE
Archaetnos cc was appointed by Delacon Planning to conduct a heritage impact assessment for the proposed upgrade of certain buildings at the Louis Pasteur Complex. This is on Erven 479, R/480 and portion 1 of 480 on the corner of Pretorius and Sisulu Street, Pretoria. This is in the City of Tshwane, Gauteng Province.
The project firstly entails the upgrade of three buildings, mostly to the interiors thereof. This is done to enable the owner to the leasing of these to respective clients.
All three of the buildings are older than 60 years but has been adapted over the years. Resultantly it has limited heritage significance and none of the buildings are pristine. Therefore, these changes may be allowed.
The applicable social consultation has also been done, consisting of site notices and newspaper advertisements. No comments were received.
The development may therefore continue. It is recommended that this HIA report be approved by the PHRA-G and that the proposed changes to the buildings be allowed.
