A REPORT ON A HERITAGE IMPACT ASSESSMENT FOR A PROPOSED RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT ON ERF 1416, CAPITAL PARK, CITY OF TSHWANE, GAUTENG PROVINCE
Archaetnos cc was appointed by Delacon Planning to conduct a heritage impact assessment for a proposed residential development on Erf 1416 in Capital Park. This is in the City of Tshwane, Gauteng Province.
The project firstly entails the consolidation of the three erven (the Remainder of portion 3 of erf 1416, portion 6 of erf 1416 and portion 7 of erf 1416), then the demolition of existing buildings on the properties and hereafter a residential development. This consist of 13 units, combined into two levels as well as a parking area and landscaped gardens.
Two of the existing buildings on the properties are older than 60 years but has been adapted over the years to such an extent that it has no inherent heritage importance left. Also, nothing else of heritage importance was noted.
The applicable social consultation has also been done, consisting of site notices and newspaper advertisements. No comments were received.
The development may therefore continue. It is recommended that this HIA report be approved by the PHRA-G and that the demolition of the existing buildings on the three properties be approved.
