A report on a heritage impact assessment for the Taung Central Business District extension, Taung, Northwest Province
Summary
Archaetnos cc was appointed by Proplan Technologies cc to conduct a heritage impact assessment in Taung as part of the Greater Taung & Phokwane Regeneration Strategy. The Taung Central Business District Extension is being proposed.
No sites, features or objects of any heritage significance were located during the survey of the area. Dense vegetation made visibility difficult, and various disturbances would have destroyed any evidence of any heritage sites that might have existed in the area in the past.
The development can therefore continue, taking cognizance of recommendations put forward at the end of this report.
