Summary
Archaetnos cc was requested by K2M Technologies to conduct a cultural heritage impact assessment for the proposed development of the new Lekgophung Rural Housing Project, located in the Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality, near the Madikwe Game Reserve in the Northwest Province. Sixty one RDP-type houses will be developed, with each stand totaling around 250 square meters.
The fieldwork undertaken revealed a number of sites, features and objects of medium cultural heritage significance on the property. These sites will be impacted upon by the development, and because of their medium significance some mitigation measures will have to be considered.
The proposed development can therefore continue, once these measures have been implemented.
