A report on a cultural heritage impact assessment for the proposed Lindleyspoort/ Damplaats Country Estate on the farms Lindleyspoort 220 JP and Damplaats 221 JP, Northwest Province

Summary

Archaetnos cc was requested by Maxim Planning Solutions to conduct a cultural heritage impact assessment for the proposed Lyndleyspoort/ Damplaats Country Estate. This is located approximately 20 km to the north of Swartruggens in the Northwest Province.

The fieldwork undertaken revealed one site and one object of cultural heritage significance on the area to be developed on the property. The site is of high cultural significance. However at present the development does not seem to impact thereon. Should it however be threatened in future it would have to be investigated further.

The proposed development on the areas indicated, can therefore continue.
