Summary
Archaetnos cc was appointed by Aquilla steel in Thabazimbi to conduct a cultural heritage impact assessment for the proposed prospecting on the farm Wachteenbietjiesdraai 350 KQ. The farm is situated to the south of Thabazimbi in the Limpopo Province.
The fieldwork undertaken revealed six sites of cultural heritage significance. All of these have some cultural significance and if possible it should be avoided. However, future mining activities will most probably have an affect on most of these sites. The report indicates how to deal with these, also in the future.
Suitable mitigation measures are proposed. Once these have been implemented, the proposed prospecting may continue.
