A report on a cultural heritage impact assessment on holding 41 of the Kempton Park Agricultural Holdings, Gauteng Province

Summary

Archaetnos cc was appointed by K2M Technologies to conduct a cultural heritage impact assessment on holding 41 of the Kempton Park agricultural holdings. This is in the Gauteng Province.

In the area impacted upon by the proposed development one feature of cultural heritage significance was found, dating to the twentieth century. The report gives a discussion of this find and also gives an indication of the methodology followed. It also indicates how to deal with any archaeological material that may be unearthed during construction activities in the future.

The feature however does not have any unique characteristics. Therefore no further mitigation measures are proposed. It is concluded that the proposed development may continue.
